Lightweight king and recent #1 P4P Islam Makhachev is the fight to make, for all 155lbs fighters. The 25-1 Dagestani is on a 13-fight win streak. Despite discarding all good options in the division and reestablishing dominance, some won’t give up. This includes lightweight contender Charles Oliveira, who wants a shot at the title. But on the opposing end now is Ali Abdelaziz, and not Makhachev.
As weird as that comes off, the Dominant MMA Management CEO is notorious for his Twitter takeovers. The fight manager and promoter admitted as much, on using fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov‘s account to slam other fighters. Now, it would seem he has done it again. Here’s what Abdelaziz said in one of his recent tweets:
He’s probably gonna lose to Arman and still I’m not gonna have to run.Ali Abdelaliz via X
This comes in light of Oliveira’s coach and manager, Diego Lima speaking to MMA Fighting. He respectfully mentioned that Makhachev doesn’t want a rematch, but there’s nowhere to run from the option. Sooner or later, he’d have to face the victor of Oliveira vs. Arman Tsarukyan (for UFC 300). And Abdelaziz prompted, vocalizing Makhachev, that he won’t need to run.
A prime reaction retorted “Wrong account goofy“. Oliveira was to face Makhachev at UFC 294 but had to withdraw due to an injury. Currently, Makhachev has turned down a rematch proposition with him and Tsarukyan. But more than these, Abdelaziz’s slip-up is what has taken netizens by storm.
Fans react to Ali Abdelaziz posting tweets as Islam Makhachev
Ali Abdelaziz is famed for representing an array of successful fighters within the scope of MMA. He has even gone to the sword, defending the combatants that he represents. But Abdelaziz is more notoriously known for his guerilla tactics.
Abdelaziz engages in hide-and-seek strategizing, dissing other peers posing as his own fighters. Now, he has been caught red-handed posting from the stance of Islam Makhachev.
The event that puts everything into context is Charles Oliveira’s corner weighing in on a rematch. Oliveira faces rising prospect Arman Tsarukyan soon and in all probability Makhachev next.
On the suggestion that there isn’t anywhere to run, Abdelaziz had chosen to retort back, posing as Makhachev. Here’s how fans have taken to the matter –
A lot of fans have gibed at Abdelaziz exposing himself with the tweet. A few have additionally also brought up Belal Muhammad‘s streak of non-highlight performances. The manager recently talked about Muhammad training in Dagestan with Makhachev’s AKA peers, for a possible welterweight showdown.
