In a room buzzing with people, one can give it to Will Smith to deliver the unexpected on the stage. The actor, rapper, and producer performed his iconic theme song from “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” at ‘La Velada‘ which had a footfall of 85,000 people.
The crowd went berserk after hearing the sitcom track 28 years after the show has ended. The video floating on the internet features Will Smith on the stage tuning into the music of ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air‘ as the crowd goes into an uproar.
While the crowd can be loudly heard, it is not the sound of audience cheering back to the song as the fans were left stunned unaware of the lyrics. He was joined by background dancers and before they knew it, it had turned into a concert.
On the other hand, some people on the internet were confused by the concept of influencer boxing. Influencer boxing involves internet sensations, YouTubers, and artists competing against each other (sometimes even to settle personal beef). It has been so well received by the public that there is now an ‘Influencer Fight League’ where people compete for charity. Some of the most famous influencer boxing matches include KSI vs. Logan Paul and Austin McBroom vs. Bryce Hall, which were highly anticipated by the public.
This Influencer boxing event, ‘La Velada del Año‘ (which translates to “the night of the year”) popularly known as ‘La Velada’ is organized by Ibai Llanos every year. This event is especially popular for breaking the streaming records.
Popular streamers like El Mariana and La Cobra competed across four individual matches. In intermissions, Bizarrap, Anuel, and Will Smith came in delivering musical performances. The event is particularly known for throwing-in some last minute surprises.
Mixed reactions for Will Smith’s rap performance
The comments section of the aforementioned video was filled with merciless criticism from the public. Whereas some people were roasting him for his choice of song, other were mocking him for his fruitless efforts.
Some went absolutely brutal.
However, like every two-faceted coin, there were a couple of users who tried to defend the star by any and all means necessary.
‘Every cloud has a silver lining’, as they say.
Another highlight of the night was La Cobra doing one unforeseen celebration as a tribute to Argentine football great and current world champion Lionel Messi. He emulated Messi’s iconic jersey celly by taking out an exact Lionel Messi’s No. 10 shirt and displayed it to the crowd, just like the legend had done in 2017.
