‘I lost my Grandmother to Alzheimer’s a few years ago right after I got married. She was my best friend the love of my life and the only source of unconditional love I have ever received. I want to thank Dancing with the Stars @dancingabc for the beautiful tribute to my grandmother. I am in tears watching it back because I knew I couldn’t watch before my dance for fear of getting too emotional. Thank you @brandonarmstrong for protecting my heart and keeping me distracted during the playback.

My grandmother Doris Was and is my inspiration and lives inside of me. I named my daughter @thebrooklyndaly after her so her legacy can live on. We are truly blessed to have had this amazing woman in our lives to raise me from three days old.

I love you Ma! That one was for you!’ Kenya captioned her post.
