Brazil faced South Korea in the Round of 16 fixture in the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The Brazilian legend Pele, an icon in the football world, has lately been in critical condition health. Admitted twice, the great was suffering from Colon Cancer. After the match, when Brazil came out as heroes for their nation beating South Korea 4-1, the Brazilian boys held a life-size poster of Pele and gave him a tribute, as this will was for him.

As suggested by the doctors of the Albert Einstein hospital, the great man is showing slight improvement but is in a stable condition compared to when he was brought there. Several reports also suggest that the man is no longer under palliative care. Bringing joy to all the Brazilians as their great man is improving health and the National team is playing their dream. Hopefully, the Selecao are the most likely to lift the golden trophy.

Brazil put up a massive show against the South Koreans by slamming four against them. The Asian side could only attack back with 1. Pele has been a Father figure in inspiring not only the nation but the whole country; Neymar, Richarlison, and other stars of the Brazilian team are pretty fond of the great man. The country prays for his good health and a speedy recovery from the bad days.

Pele also posted a message to support the team from his Twitter account, saying that he would watch on from his hospital bed and would have been surprised to see their winger Vinicius Junior find the space coolly during the 7th-minute opener for the great game ahead. Brazil now stands in the quarterfinals of the match and shall now face Croatia, the last finalists, in their quest to win the sixth trophy for their nation.

Brazil carries Pele’s unmatched legacy

Pele, who is known as ‘the football ambassador‘ of the world, is also hailed as a national hero and a national treasure by the Brazilians. The culture in Brazil is designed in a way that has a tendency of forgetting their idols but Pele had the power, and will, and by becoming an unstoppable force the great changed that.

At the moment of his retirement in 1977, Pele had engraved a series of seemingly unbreakable records on the chest of FIFA. He had racked up a total of 1,283 goals in 1,363 matches, which made him the top scorer in Brazil’s history and FIFA’s history. Amazingly, he managed to pull off 92 hat-tricks. He also made the gigantic record for the most FIFA World Cup wins for an individual, adding three medals to his name.

Although many journalists and football pundits believe that Maradona has the upper hand in natural talent over Pele, it is clear that Pele comes second to no one.  Pele was a fantastic player on the pitch and an outstanding human being and a role model to the thousands of people who watched him play. To this day, the man is still considered the greatest player to have ever graced the sport.
